# The video will not play, or it stutters

Stuttering is almost always bandwidth. The video plays from a content network that adjusts quality to your connection, and a weak moment in the connection shows up as a pause. Three things fix most of it:

1. Let the video load for a few seconds before pressing play, then start it.
2. Close other tabs and apps that are streaming or downloading. A background update on a phone is the usual suspect.
3. If you are on cellular, try the lesson again on wi-fi. Video lessons use real data; the audio version of the same lesson uses much less, and every lesson has one.

A video that will not start at all is usually the browser. Update it, or open the lesson in a different one. If one specific lesson will not play while the others do, that is on our side, and we want to know: [contact us](https://nynotaryexamprep.com/contact/) and tell us the lesson number.
